How I build a site

Human taste and local knowledge decide what the site should say. Careful, standards-first code makes sure people and search engines can read it.

The five-second test

A visitor should know where you are, what you sell and how to order before they scroll. Hours, address and the main button go at the top.

Clean, light code

Hand-written HTML and CSS with no frameworks to break, a clear page structure, organized assets, and fast Netlify hosting.

Accessible by default

Proper landmarks, labelled forms, keyboard focus and WCAG contrast, aiming for 95+ on Lighthouse accessibility.

Ready for AI search

JSON-LD schema in every page so ChatGPT, Gemini, Google and Apple Intelligence can read the business's location, hours, menu and services correctly.

Amber Moon Fragrances

I founded and run an artisanal fragrance line built on botanical accords, cold winterization and slow maturation.

  • Storefront: wrote the style guide and built a custom store with Stripe payments.
  • Product and identity: high-contrast packaging, bottle sizing (2 oz bottles and 1/6 oz sample vials) and consistent branding across every channel.
  • Operations: production, photography and video, and fulfillment for custom batches.

KrinkleChris' Wild Peppers

An independent hot sauce brand built around small-batch fermentation and layered flavor.

  • Recipe: lacto-fermented habanero and Thai chilis, balanced brines, wildflower honey and garlic.
  • Brand and content: label design, a heat scale customers can read at a glance, and short-form reels made to be discovered on Instagram.
